OC Restaurant Week is right around the corner. The seventh annual event is taking place throughout the county March 1st through 7th.
This is the perfect time to try out some new restaurants or check out the latest creations of favorite chefs. You’ll also save money while you take advantage of their discounted prix fixe meal offerings for lunch and dinner.
This week I attended an advanced tasting featuring specially prepared appetizers, entrees and desserts from some of the participating restaurants. The event was held at the beautiful Sub-Zero Wolf Showroom in Costa Mesa. All of the restaurants at the preview were new to me and I had a great time trying out their delicious and beautiful dishes.
My vegetarian favorites were the mushroom and spinach empanadas from Maro Wood Grill and the small plates from Fig & Olive.
Friends enjoyed the sushi from Blue C Sushi and the mini lobster rolls from Slapfish. I thought they were beautiful even though I don’t eat seafood.
For dessert there were decadent chocolates from Valenza Chocolatier and gorgeous angel wing cupcakes from Cupcake Wars’ winner Casey’s Cupcakes.
You’ll want to check out the OC Restaurant Week website in February for the complete list of restaurants and a dining guide that will help you plan your week. Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner for two with an ocean view or something fun for the whole family, there will be plenty to choose from!
