Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie


Mmm… smoothies are a great way to start the day. I like using ingredients that help turn my fruity beverage into a meal. Oatmeal a great addition that has protein, fiber and other good nutrition.

Scottish Oatmeal is different than steel cut or rolled oats. It’s ground and can be used in a variety of ways. A hot cereal is nice when the weather is cool, but when it’s warm outside I like to enjoy my oatmeal as a smoothie.

I like to buy my strawberries by the flat. I use some of them fresh and then pop the others in the freezer, so they are ready to blend into smoothies.

Scottish Oatmeal

Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie


2 cups Frozen Strawberries
1 cup Milk (or vegan alternative)
2 T Scottish Oatmeal (I use Bob’s Red Mill Scottish Oats)
1 t Honey or Agave
1 t Vanilla Extract


Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender.

Blend until smooth and creamy.

    Looks yummy! I make an oatmeal smoothie most mornings for myself and my son. Good way to start the day.

    I never tried Scottish Oatmeal before, but now I want to buy it to try this smoothie. What a great idea and super breakfast for me.

    Looks so tasty, like the idea of buying a flat of
    strawberries. Do use Bob’s oatmeal for my hot oats cereal.

    I love smoothies. I make them for my kids as an afternoon snack. This would be great in the morning instead of breakfast. The oatmeal would make it more filling.

    I use oatmeal in my smoothies all of the time! and chia seeds and flax meal too.

    I love adding oatmeal to my smoothies. I use steal cut and I soak it overnight with a TBS of yogurt in it to culture it and make it easier to digest. We live on oatmeal it seems :D
