This avocado hummus recipe was a happy experiment in the kitchen, so I am happy it was a success. I thought it might work, and it did.
I like the flavor and nutrition of both guacamole and hummus, so thought I’d try combining them. After finishing off my first batch, I did a quick search online. Then I found that I wasn’t the only one to think of this combo.
This recipe is similar to ones I’ve done for a more traditional hummus. It’s got a beautiful green color from the avocado, but the flavor is more like hummus than guacamole.
It has enough lemon juice in it that the color stays a vibrant green, if you store it in the refrigerator for a couple of days. However, we usually finish it off right away.
Whether you call it avocado hummus, guacahummus or hummumole, it is delicious!
