When traveling, I often search for hotels with complimentary breakfast. Now that I’ve been to The Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, I understand why their breakfast is so popular.
A hot American buffet breakfast is complimentary for hotel guests. It’s served in the dining room on the lower level of the hotel from 6:30am until 10:30am.
I had been told that the hotel was filled to capacity, but hadn’t noticed many other guests. The pool, courtyard, fitness room and other areas were mostly empty. I’m not sure what all of the other travelers were busy doing during the day and evening, but found them all downstairs at breakfast!
The main attractions were the omelet and waffle stations. Two chefs were on hand to prepare them to order. A large percentage of hotel guests are international travelers from Asia, Europe and Central/South America. The chefs did a great job communicating with others who did not speak English. They knew basic words in other languages and were able to use gestures to get everyone’s order prepared correctly.
I ordered an egg over medium and Belgian waffles. Sunny side up eggs and omelets filled with spinach, tomatoes, peppers and cheese were popular with other guests. My waffle was plain, but others were ordering strawberry waffles.
In addition to the made to order hot food items, there were plenty of other choices – a large selection of cereal, toast, muffins, croissants, fruit, sausage, tater tots, cold cuts and cheese. They had juice, watermelon infused water, milk, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Staff was friendly and cleared tables quickly to make room for the steady stream of guests.
Breakfast at The Hollywood Hotel was a pleasure!
