A Veggie Sandwich & Waterfront Views
If you are spending time along Front Street in Avila Beach, finding a casual, friendly spot with prime ocean views is a must.
On my recent visit, I made a point to visit Hula Hut, located right at 380 Front St.
It is a super popular local spot right across from the beach and the iconic Avila Pier!
🥪 A Delicious Vegetarian Option by the Beach
I originally swung by fully intending to get a cup of ice cream to enjoy while soaking up the coastal breeze and ocean scenery.
However, I found myself craving real food instead and I was so thrilled to see that they offer a fantastic veggie sandwich on their menu!
Since so many Central Coast restaurants specialize primarily in seafood or meat dishes, finding a fresh, vegetarian-friendly option made me super happy.
The sandwich was absolutely delicious, fresh, and satisfying.

Hula Hut has both indoor and outdoor seating available.
I scored a cozy outdoor table right out front, which gave me a gorgeous, unobstructed view of the Avila Pier while I ate.
The service was prompt and welcoming, and the entire place has a fun, upbeat beachy energy.

Even if you are just swinging by for a snack, Hula Hut is packed with fun finds:
- Sweets & Desserts: Multiple flavors of ice cream, decadent rich fudge, and assorted candy.
- Gifts & Souvenirs: A cute boutique selection of San Luis Obispo County souvenirs, seasonal decor, and beach gifts.
Next time I visit, I will definitely aim for a scoop of ice cream, but that veggie sandwich hit the spot perfectly for lunch!
