Fort Bragg Farmers Market
The Winter Fort Bragg Farmers Market was a fun stop, when I was on my Northern California road trip.
When I’m traveling, I love to visit farmer’s markets for local food and to get a feel for the community. Fort Bragg is one of several Mendocino County cities to have a year round market.
When the weather is warm and crops and tourists are more abundant, the market is held outdoors on downtown streets.
During the off season, from November until April, the market moves indoors to the Old Recreation Center Gym.
The Winter market is small, very small, but I’m glad I went.
There were vegetables and eggs that would appeal to locals. The kale and chard was beautiful. If I hadn’t been traveling, I would have purchased some.

There were, however, sweet treats that were great for travelers – cookies, chocolates, cakes and pies.
While we were walking around the market, we were entertained by a local woman playing an accordion.
The whole place had a friendly, small town feel.
