Hooray – Korean Pears are here!
I look forward to Korean Pear season every year. Yes, it’s possible to find different Asian pears (aka apple pears) at other times of the year. They are good, but can’t compare to these beauties.
Korean Pears are crisp, juicy, huge and full of flavor!
Normally, we just eat them fresh since they are so good as is. This year I got an eleven pound box of them (Thanks, Melissa’s!), so decided to try cooking them. This is the first recipe I tried and it was a big hit with my family. I will definitely be making it again.

Add lentils. Cook until warm throughout.
Spoon into tortillas and serve.
Options:
I chopped most of my pear very finely, just leaving part of it in bigger chunks. One of my kids is particular and I expected him to pick out the chunks of pear. However, he loved the flavor and texture and ate it all. Next time I’ll leave all of the pear in bigger pieces.
This can also be served as a side dish without the tortillas. When served as wraps, it was a perfect entree.
