Naturally, the food options at Orange County’s Fashion Island in Newport Beach are not the typical “mall food” that I grew up with. There are many great options for good, healthy food to choose from.
About a year and a half ago, I attended a fun and informative hands on bread baking class at Le Pain Quotidien. Now I like to make a point of stopping by for a bite when I’m shopping at Fashion Island.
The cafe is comfortable and has a home-like atmosphere. The decor is natural and chic. There is seating available indoors and on the patio. There are heaters outside, but on this visit I chose an indoor table to get out of the rain. If you visit during the day, you may want to enjoy the ocean view from the dog-friendly outdoor dining area.
The menu has a good selection of healthy, comfort foods. Many include their famous, fresh baked bread. They focus on healthy ingredients including fresh produce and organics. There are plenty of options for vegans, vegetarians and people with allergies or other dietary restrictions. Each time I have been here, the servers have been knowledgable about the menu and ingredients which makes it much easier for me to choose something that works for me.
