The Grill on The Alley has restaurants in California, Florida, Chicago and Dallas. I went to the one in Chicago for a business breakfast last Summer. This year, I went to a business lunch at the San Jose location.
The restaurant is located in The Fairmont Hotel. You can enter from the street or from the hotel lobby.
There were about 20 of us for the luncheon and they had a separate room set up for us that was just off of the main dining room.
They had special menus printed for us with options arranged by our lunch hosts. We had our choice of salad and entree. Fresh bread was also available and beverages were filled and refilled frequently.
The Caesar Salad was a good start. I followed it up with a vegetarian pasta dish that was delicious. Others had filet. We were also served side dishes of mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables family style.
I was glad that I saved room for dessert. Chocolate cake and a cup of coffee were the perfect finish to the lunch.
The food was good and service was excellent!
