Grilled cheese sandwiches are a wonderful comfort food that always brings back memories for me.
These days I prefer to make mine in a panini press.
It’s quick and easy and there is no need to add butter or oil, so it ends up being a healthier sandwich.
I used strong and flavorful ingredients for this panini, but you can use a milder cheese, less tart apple or another type of bread if you prefer something with a taste that isn’t as bold.
