Santa Clara Wine Trail: Guglielmo Winery and Vineyards
The Santa Clara Valley is home to over twenty wineries, and the Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill is a lovely place to spend an afternoon.
Some wineries are nice for a quick taste, and others are good for a longer visit. Guglielmo is the latter.
It is just north of Gilroy and a short distance from the 101.
The grounds are beautiful, and there is plenty of free parking.
They have managed to keep the family atmosphere, even though it is a larger winery.
After chatting with a friendly employee, I asked if she was a family member.
She wasn’t, but feels as if she is, since she loves her job so much.
I’m pretty sure that everyone I came in contact with also enjoys is just as happy with their job.

We took our time tasting each of the wines on the tasting menu, instead of rushing through one after the other.
In between pours, we walked around the vineyard, browsed in the gift shop and soaked up some sun on the patio.
I enjoyed the traditional wines that I tasted, but my favorite of the day was the final tasting.
I had a peach bellini made with Guglielmo Prosecco and authentic Italian peach puree.
It was delicious, and the perfect finish to a lovely afternoon.
