🍄 Square and Savory: My Experience with Mushroom Squared Patties

If you are looking for a refreshing change from the standard round burger, Mushroom Squared Patties are a fun and delicious option.

As the name indicates, these are square shaped patties, not round burgers.

They are plant-based and made from Maitake Mushrooms (aka Hen of the Woods), providing a nice texture that is a good base for a meal.

The taste is pretty neutral, which is a great feature because it means they are ready to be seasoned or topped however you like.

When you want a canvas for your culinary creativity, these are the perfect starting point.

I liked them all the same across the 3 different varieties available—I truly have no favorite because the quality is consistent throughout.

🧊 Easy Prep: Pan vs. Air Fryer

These are frozen patties that are not to be thawed prior to cooking, which makes them very convenient for a quick meal.

While the package instructions say to cook over medium heat in a pan—which I tried first and found to be fine—I much preferred a different method.

I cooked my other patties in my air fryer and found it very easy.

I really like the air fried texture it produces!

Each box contains 2 individually packaged patties, which is incredibly convenient.

You don’t have to worry about the rest of the box getting freezer burn when you only want a single serving.

🍔 Get Creative with Toppings

Because of that neutral base, there is plenty of room for you to be as creative or as basic as you’d like.

To give you an idea, I made burgers topped with spinach & red onions and drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar—delish!

The square shape also makes them a nice fit for different types of bread or even sliced up in a wrap.

Whether you are a long-time vegetarian or just looking for a good meatless meal, these are easy to incorporate into your rotation.
